Collaborate to Improve

The theme was “Collaborate to Improve”. The initiative behind the conference is to facilitate an open conversation in order to provide greater transparency for the complexity of problem gambling. The broad range of speakers allows us to better understand the different aspects of responsible gambling, and how we must all play a part to deliver on our promise.

Speakers

The conference was addressed by Kindred Group’s CEO, Henrik Tjärnström, followed by Alfred Grixti, CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services. Maris Catania, Head of Integrity and Player Sustainability Research at Kindred, gave the concluding comments.

“No operator, supplier, regulatory authority, research center, treatment center or other expert can solve the challenges alone, we must learn from each other and cooperate in these important issues", said Henrik Tjärnström, CEO at Kindred Group.

Proposals for actions needed to meet the challenges for reaching a more sustainable gambling industry were presented during the conference:

- Educate young people about the risks associated with gambling.

- Establish a joint blocking system. Players who have a problematic gambling behaviour should not be able to play with any gambling company.

- Introduce a ban on gambling on credit.
